When talking of the Florida’s cultural hub, the place that is actually being referred to is the City of Sarasota and the areas that surround it. This is mainly due to the fact that the area is endowed with lots of sun, water and sand, the ideal combination for a tourist destination. Sarasota is served by two international airports, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and the Tampa International Airport. They are located to the northeast and north of the city respectively.

Sarasota is home to the John and Mabel Ringling Art Museum and the Circus Museum. Visitors can locate these museums to the south of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The operating hours for these museums are as from 10AM all the way up to 5.30PM, except for national holidays when they remain closed. There is also the Sarasota Classic Car Museum which is located to the south of the same airport. This is the perfect place for those people who are obsessed with cars to visit.

Nature blends very well with heritage at the Florida cultural hub. Other than museums, there are also a number of wildlife attractions to be found here. They include botanical gardens like the Marie Selby Gardens that are found on the Sarasota Bay shores. It contains more than 6,000 orchards and over 20,000 different living plants. There is also a wide range of the bird community comprising of both native birds and the seasonal migratory ones.  Just adjacent to the bird community, visitors will come across some research centers that include a shark research center, marine laboratories, Aquariums and many more other attractions.

There are also symphony orchestras, choral productions, musicals, and many more that take place in magnificent venues like the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the Asolo State Theatre. Visitors can pay a visit to the Center for the Performing Arts that is located at 5555 North Tamiami Trail.
